Frances and Jane journeyed to Tallahassee on February 8-9 to present a Publishing and Marketing Workshop for the Tallahassee Writers Association. More than 90 writers attended the session. While in the state capitol, Frances and Jane also toured the Rose Printing facility and visited with Florida author Adrian Fogelin.

Flagler County Student Workshops
Jane R. Wood and Frances Keiser gave two days of workshops for Flagler County sixth grade students involved in the Josh Crews Writing Project. Get Book Savvy will be publishing an anthology of the students’ work, to be released in spring of 2013.

Florida Publishers Association’s Fall Ed-U Conference
Jane R. Wood and Frances Keiser were speakers at FPA’s Fall Conference. FPA members include new and established independent and traditional publishers as well as aspiring authors who want to learn about publishing and marketing. Brandy Hilboldt Allport, the “Book Lady” at the Florida Times-Union, was guest speaker at the Children’s Book Writers meeting in April. Her topic: Working with the Media. Brandy’s hands were on her face to hide a band-aid covering an insect bite she received while giving an outdoor class for her ninth grade students.
